ROULETTE FOR BACKGROUND COLORS
Come on everyone; let's take a break from all this referencing. You know what they say about Jack? What DID they say about Jack? Jack should be nimble and quick? No ... Jack should stop eating all that fat? No ... Jack was playing around with Jill? No ... Jack sat in some corner doing whatever? No (although I'd like to know what he was doing in the corner or for that matter, with Jill). Well, whatever it was, the jingle said something about Jack doing too much work with no play and becoming a dull boy.

So let's play color roulette. You pays your chips and you spins your wheels and you gets your wysiwyg results (what you see is what you get). Only note: no wheel to spin; just click "Spin" and stop it at your leisure by clicking the X's ... then view your colorful background on this page. You might possibly get a black making all on the page invisible. Not to alarm you, I'll make the regular links red. By the way, you will note a pound sign (#) followed by six small characters where is says "BG Color" ... Those are hexadecimals and for information about that, you can see my "Color" section on the Navigator page. Those codes are used in creating all the different colors on websites: colors of backgrounds, fonts, links, etc. It is just another interesting subject and might even have special significance to math majors.

Roulette is a casino and gambling game named after a French diminutive for "little wheel". In the game, players may choose to place bets on either a number, a range of numbers, the colors red or black, or whether the number is odd or even. To determine the winning number and color, a croupier spins a wheel in one direction, then spins a ball in the opposite direction around a tilted circular track running around the circumference of the wheel. The ball eventually loses momentum and falls on to the wheel and into one of 37 (in European roulette) or 38 (in American roulette) colored and numbered pockets on the wheel
